I'm looking at a 1997 25 Ft Chaparral signature 240 crusier with a 5.7 mercruiser motor. It has 371 hours on it...is that too many?

371 hours is not a lot at all. The boat is 13 years old, so it's only averaged 29 hours a year- probably 7 or 8 days a year. From the forums I've read, 2500 hours is about the expected life for a well maintained marine motor. I just bought a 1988 boat with 320 hours, and considered myself lucky to find such a low hours motor.

Good Luck
