I have a pursuit 3000 (1998) w/ twin KAMD44-P engines. Just recently I have white smoke and reduced power out of my port engine. I have 1400 hrs on both. My diagnostic code is reading 6-2 - however my mechanic thinks it's a partially clogged injector. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Frank

I am not sure about reading what your codes are with who's diagnostic computer box...

Generally;

White Smoke
White smoke can indicate that you are burning antifreeze or water. This can signal that you have blown a head gasket and that cooloing fluid is making it into the combustion chamber and blowing out through the exhaust.

Black Smoke
Black smoke is usually unburned fuel and can generally be associated with running rich. A very common association with black smoke is a boost leak which is also associated with poor fuel economy, and fuel cut.

Blue Smoke
Exhaust smoke that is "bluish" in color usually signifies that oil is getting into the combustion chamber or exhaust and burning off. This condition is usually refered to as Burning Oil.

Thanks Boat Scotty - I'll be running it this weekend with an additive we put in to enrich the fuel. I'm hoping that this works. I hate to think what a head gasket cost. By the way the engine was running a little rough. The diagnostic code was coming from my Pursuits diagnostic control. It's the control that lights up in neutral with buttons just above it for a diagnostic signal that flashes with signal codes.
Thanks - I'll let you know

OK Guys - Pulled the valve cover off this weekend and were ready to pull the injectors when we discovered a broken lifter. That.... we hope is what's causing the piston / cyclinder problem. Stay tuned.
Thanks
