I AM TRYING TO LUBRICATE MY STEERING BOX. THERE IS A 1/4" DIAMETER PLASTIC TUBE WITH A CAP. IT SMELLS LIKE THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF OIL IN THERE. WHAT TYPE OF OIL DO I USE AND HOW DO I GET IT IN THERE?

Hello Rob, it sound like you have a rotary steering system. The plastic tube is for spent cable. The easy way to lubricate the system is to remove the cable and squirt some good grease into it with a grease gun. If no luck remove the box and take it apart.
