I have an older boat, a 1979 Star Craft Chieftain. My question is, what is the best way to remove the steering wheel (Destroyer style) after it's been on for almost 30 years. I am building a new dash and can't get the wheel off the old one. Thinking maybe a three pron pulley puller might work but want to see if someone had any better ideas.....Thanks...Bob B.

I like to use Kroil!

then I might consider a puller. Likely there is just a little bit of corrosion.

Thanks boatScotty,,, I sprayed it with some PB Blaster for 24 hours. Couldn't get a pulley on it so I screwed the nut on till it was flush with the shaft and give it a couple taps with a hammer and it came loose. Got to git er dun, only have four maybe five weeks untill the Walleye start biting in the St' Clair River........... Thanks again boatScotty.................Bob B.
