I have a Chrysler 318A according to the nameplate numbers. I could not locate a tab or any marker on the front timing chain cover to use for timing this engine. I did however locate a mark on the flywheel and tab on the flywheel housing, but am not sure whether this is TDC or what. The mark did show lined up on the tab when the timing light is used. According to my maintance manual, only the 318C and the bigger block engines timed this way. Since the 318's are supposed to be timed 12-1/2 degrees BTC, I'm not sure where I am at here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Again, thank you for your response. This one was kind of worrying me as I don't want to burn up any valves. I could have spent the rest of my life not knowing what I already know about these engines. Very Happy
