I have a new question unrelated to my last post about the Distributor Cap.
When I try to start my boat the starter wants to kick out under load. If I physically hold up the 9 tooth drive with a screw driver while someone turns the key it will start. (Real Safe!!) I have tried replacing the starter solenoid with a spare I have but that doesn't help. (Unless that's bad too) The last time this happened I took the starter back to the Co. that had rebuilt it but they said it was fine. Rolling Eyes
I am considering just purchasing a new one on-line. Has anybody had a similiar experience & what did you do? They've used these same starters on Chr,Force& Merc from 69 to 84 from what I've seen. This problem didn't develop after the Cap Incident, just a different hassle.
Thanks!!! Stevum Embarassed

It sounds like a weak starter. Spinning too slow or the drive is weak. I would invest in a new starter. Cool

Thanks for the advice Mike!! That's not a too high dollar try either.
I appreciate your reply, Stevum Wink
