I took the boat out for app 3 hours and steering was normal. By entering the mooring steering became very slack, no counter pressure and clicking noise in the steering box. Can anybody advise what the problem could be, maybe low hydraulic fluids or anything more serious. Thanks.

Three things...

Low fluid
Air in the System
Fluid Leak

All of them have something in common. The other real option is a hydraulic helm failure where the there is leaking past the seals.

Have you checked for the first three - then the helm?
