The local Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct two America's Boating Courses on Bainbridge Island. You may choose either day to attend:
Saturday, September 16 or Saturday, October 7.
Class will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with one hour for lunch) in the Kalgren Room,
Bainbridge Island Commons, 402 Brien Drive, SE.

This course offers recreational boaters a wide variety of information and instruction on safety equipment, boat handling and trailering, navigation, rules of the road, water and weather, federal and state requirements for boating, and much more.
Anyone interested in learning or expanding their knowledge of boating is encouraged to attend.

Completion of the Coast Guard Auxiliary's American's Boating Course meets the boating educational requirements for Washington State, which allows graduates to apply for the Boater's Education Card. Many insurance companies provide discounts to graduates of the boating education course.

The $35 enrollment fee covers book, CD, materials and exam.

To preregister contact, 206-780-0523.

I have gone to these Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Courses on the East Coast and they are great. You will also get better insurance rates for attending but you need to get some proof of attendance. Probably works the same way in Washington State.
