I want to modify the engine raw water supply -- between
the raw water strainer and the engine -- to add a "T" for
flushing. (This is for operation in salt water, in Flroida)

The strainer and current fititngs are all Groco / bronze.

It's no problem finding a 1 1/2 bronze tee and reducer
to do the job. The only problem is finding a nipple
to attach the "T" to the strainer. Easy to find brass,
which I think would be a bad choice.

Is is ok to use a 316 stainless "close" nipple, or is there
a better choice?

Thanks.

Hello Pablo, there are a couple of options I can reccomend. One is to purchase a Perko Flushing Sea Strainer or a Perko Flushing and Winterizing Valve. To see the Valve Click Here : Perko Flushing valve
To see the Perko Flushing Strainer Click Here :Flushing Sea Strainer
