Here’s a good article on Blake Island State Park which is right in the middle of Puget Sound. It has an intriguing history, and it is a fantastic place that kids (and parents) love to visit or go camping. However, you need to get there by boat.

The article does not say this, but if you ever go there, you can thank a fellow named Bert Cole, then Commissioner of WA State Land, who thought that the island should be preserved as a public resource.
